Leadership Indianapolis
Programs

Join us for a three-day, fun-filled and interactive weekend at camp!  We’ve created this program to help civic-minded young professionals age 22 - 35 prepare for civic leadership and identify ways to get involved.  You’ll build your network, your understanding of community issues and needs, and your civic leadership skills.

Our recently released State of Community Leadership report identified a gap in civic leadership development programming for Millennials.  We also learned that Indy’s Millennials want to make an impact in our community, help build solutions and make new friends through their community involvement.  We’ve built Civic Boot Camp to fill that gap and to assist young professionals in getting connected to opportunities to make a difference.

  • Learn why your involvement is important to Indy’s future
  • Learn how to share your voice with our community
  • Identify ways to increase your impact on our community
  • Meet and develop friendships with other civic-minded YPs
  • Get connected to civic leadership opportunities
  • Meet and work with experienced civic leaders who serve as camp counselors and facilitators
Date:          September 8-10, 2017
Location:   Flat Rock YMCA Camp in St. Paul, Indiana (near Shelbyville)
Cost:          $500

“I am so thankful that I live in a City that is asking for young professionals to get involved. I spent the weekend learning how I can plug in and get civically engaged with other incredibly talented leaders, who I can now call friends. Excited to see what we can accomplish together in the future.”  – Kait Baffoe

"Prior to Civic Boot Camp, I had been focusing on building up my areas or weakness and was getting frustrated with my lack of success. Boot Camp taught me to focus on applying my strengths to where I can make the greatest difference. I now have a plan of action to make my community better." - Jason Soderlund, BSA LifeStructures

"Civic Boot Camp really opened my eyes to not only a great network of people my age with a passion to, not only change and impact the city, but also gave me the resources to do so." - Kendra Tracey, Duke Realty

“Had an awesome weekend at camp identifying my strengths and passions, and determining how to best put them in motion to benefit the Indianapolis community... along with all these awesome future leaders.” – Ann Solzak, Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee
