“Through OI I learned of service possibilities that I hadn’t considered before.” – Thomas M. Schneider, OI 2017

Thomas M. Schneider serves as Advisor to the CEO at Alpha Tau Omega National Fraternity. He participated in the May session of Opportunity Indianapolis and had this to say:
“I thought Opportunity Indianapolis was excellent. It was especially helpful to me in my community relations role with ATO to learn more about the different facets of Indianapolis and to get acquainted with civic leaders in our group as well as among the speakers both days. I’m glad ATO got to sponsor the day two breakfast too!
I followed-up the next week to volunteer for one of the faith-based food-desert solutions that Shellye Suttles had mentioned. I’ll be helping certain Saturdays this summer and fall at Fresh Stop, the fresh produce co-op to be held two Saturdays/month at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church (34th & Central). My wife and I have been attending “Tab” and I thought it was a good way to get involved following the Tab men’s Bible study on Saturday mornings at the church.
I’ve also taken note of the potential corporate volunteer opportunities available locally as I look at how our ATO staff of 25+ might volunteer for a half-day of service sometime later this year. Through OI I learned of service possibilities that I hadn’t considered before: Indy Parks, Keep Indy Beautiful, and Indiana Sports Corp among them.”
